Bitten By Bridge

[This is a “test post” to test a new function of the website called “Life After Yale”.  Please ignore this post! It’s not true!]

I remember it well –  two people in my Welch Hall entryway mentioned that they played bridge.   My mom had taught me in high school, and I thought I was pretty good.

Turns out I was wrong.

We found a 4th in a neighboring entryway and got together frequently, settling on a weekly Wednesday evening game, interrupted only by midterms, finals and vacations.

One of our lot, Jamie Harris, didn’t graduate until 1973, and he went on to rack up a zillion Masters points and become one of the preeminent bridge instructors and professionals in the USA, maybe the world.

I sure did improve my game during those Bright College Years, and it’s been a source of joy since.  I’m still playing frequently, although no longer competitively.  Let me know if you want to “talk bridge.”  It’s be great to find other ’69’ers who have been bitten by the bridge bug.
