Calvin Hill Scores on a Busted Play

It was supposed to be a new and different format of Class Colloquium: not a lecture, but rather a celebration of and by that magical sports duo, Brian Dowling and Calvin Hill.  They were slated to talk about “the student-athlete, then and now” … starting with their collegiate experience in the 60s.

We opened the event to adjacent classes, and that created the problem: Zoom upgraded our breakout rooms, but inadvertently downgraded our “Large Meeting” license for 500 seats down to the regular limit of 100 seats.  So over 300 registrants got locked out, including Brian Dowling!

Calvin made the best of the “busted play” and proceeded to indulge and captivate the limited audience with reflections on his Yale experiences, his career in the pros and his post-player years helping pro teams develop programs supporting the health and general welfare of the players.  He also fielded a broad range of questions.  Check it out:

Sadly, Brian was never able to get into the meeting … and everyone missed him.

Good news: Brian and Calvin have agreed to re-schedule for February 23rd at 3:00 pm EST.   Register now.

Registration is open; go ahead and sign up now.

As you can see in the video, Calvin is a wonderfully gifted and caring man.  Brian is incredibly talented and accomplished in his own right, and the two of them together are as interesting and impressive now as they were unstoppable back In the Day.

Feel free to register now for the February 23rd event!
