Richard Stanton Umans was born on September 13, 1947 in Cambridge, MA and attended Newton High School in Newtonville, MA; At Yale, he was a member of Timothy Dwight College and majored in art history; He was a member of the varsity swim team and the Aurelian Honor Society.
He died on February 11, 1985. He was 38 years old.
